RIDING SEASONS & LOCATIONS

Riding Season and Choosing the Right Tour

SEASON MONTHS AREAS SUITABLE FOR TOURING
Summers May, June, July Higher Himalayas
Monsoons Mid July, August, September Higher Himalayas
Autumn Mid-September, October Lower Himalayas
Winters November, December, January, February Western India, Coastal India and Southern India
Spring Late February, March & April Lower Himalayas

As soon as summer approaches, the snow in the higher reaches of the mountains begins to melt, and right through the Monsoons, we focus upon riding into the Spiti Valley, the Ladakh region.

Post Monsoon, during the Autumn season, when the mountains are lush green – Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and across the north east of India through Bhutan are all accessible regions. And again, as Winter approaches we head south, through central and western India to the south.

From the beginning of spring and towards the end of Monsoons, we focus more on the middle Himalayas, travelling in and around the towns of Manali, Mcleod Ganj, Kasol and other such places.

Our International Tours also follow a similar pattern

Bhutan: Best time to visit is October to April
Myanmar: Best time to ride is from October end to Mid March
Nepal: Again similar to Bhutan, October to April is the best time for riding.
